WHAT IS MUSIC THERAPY?
Music therapy is using music as a tool to reach non-music goals and objectives. These goals can include communication, social, emotional, and motor domains. We assess, create a treatment plan, implement interventions specific to an individual or group and evaluate progress.
“Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything.”
Music therapy can be a direct support to work on NON-musical goals using LIVE music. Each session is tailored to the group or individual and can be flexible to meet in-the-moment needs. From preschool pods and specialized classrooms to group homes and assisted loving facilities, music therapy is a fun and motivational way to support all ages and abilities.
ADAPTIVE MUSIC LESSONS
Unity is proud to offer adaptive music lessons where a traditional approach may not be as effective or appropriate. Music therapists can adapt to an individual's unique needs and be creative in their learning process.
